The name and address of the Club
The name of the Club is The Ivy Club and the address of the Club is 9 West Street, London, WC2H 9NE
2.1 The Club is a proprietary club and the proprietor is Caprice Holdings Ltd.
2.2 The Proprietor is responsible for the provision of a manager and may delegate the management and running of the club to any of its nominated agents or servants.
3.1 Entry to The Ivy Club is by the flower shop at 9 West Street, London, WC2H 9NE.
3.2 Members should proceed to the Club’s reception via the stairs or lift. On arrival members should scan in using their electronic membership card.
3.3 Members may sign in up to three guests.
4.1 Members must inform reception in advance if their guests are likely to arrive first.
4.2 Unannounced guests will be asked to wait in the Piano Bar until the member arrives.
4.3 Members will be responsible for their guests’ behaviour at all times.
4.4 Children are allowed entry to the Club when it opens for Sunday Lunch and for pre-arranged Private Dining/Events in the Loft.
4.5 Dogs are permitted in Piano Bar only (except guide dogs who are permitted in all areas of the Club)
4.6 Members shall not leave the Club before their guests except by prior arrangement with, and at the discretion of, the management of the Club.
5.1 Mobile phones may only be used on the fourth floor or reception.
5.2 Cameras and recording equipment are strictly prohibited.
6.1 There is a cloakroom at reception where members may leave coats, bags and umbrellas at their own risk.
6.2 Items will only be returned on presentation of a cloakroom ticket.
6.3 Unclaimed items will be kept for three months after which time they will be donated to charity.
7.1 All bills must be settled in full before leaving the Club.
7.2 Payment is accepted in cash, by credit or debit card.
7.3 The Club does not accept cheques and there are no credit facilities.
7.4 Members are responsible for their guests’ bills if they are not paid.
8.1 The membership committee is made up of management and members and meets on a regular basis to discuss membership and all aspects of The Ivy Club. The committee is the final arbiter for membership and disciplinary matters.
8.2 The subscription rates for all categories of membership shall be determined annually by the membership committee.
8.3 Membership cards are required for entry to the Club.
8.4 Each member shall inform the membership manager of any change of address, email address or telephone number.
8.5 Any member wishing to resign his/her membership may do so at any time by writing to the membership manager. The member will give at least three month’s notice of their resignation. Refunds are at the discretion of the membership committee.
8.6 Membership is individual and cannot be transferred to a third party, relative or otherwise. It cannot be used by spouses or family members, either temporarily or permanently.
8.7 The minimum age for membership is 18.
8.8 Any action, statement, communication or other activity that brings The Ivy Club into disrepute shall be considered a disciplinary offence and will be treated as such by the membership committee who may at its discretion, expel a member for any such offence(s).
9.1 The proprietor reserves the right to refuse any member or guest of a member admission to the Club.
9.2 The proprietor also reserves the right to expel any member or terminate his or her membership at its discretion.
9.3 Members and their guest(s) must adhere to The Ivy Club dress code. The Ivy Club dress code is smart casual (smart, tailored shorts are permitted in summer). Our reception team reserve the right to refuse entry to the Club if the dress code is not adhered to. Our Dress Code is intended to encourage individuality and evolving style. It is not intended to be constricting or overly prescriptive, however we do politely ask that members and guests be respectful in their choice of smart attire.
10.1 Any member who wilfully removes, damages or destroys any property belonging to the Club or to members or to guests on the premises will be liable to expulsion. (Please also refer to 4.3 above)
11.1 The Club operates ‘Lobby Terms’ – the code of honour between Members of Parliament and journalists accredited to the lobby of the House of Commons.
11.2 All matters raised in conversation at The Ivy Club are not to be used for commercial or journalistic purposes.
11.3 The communication of information concerning the Club or its members to the media is not permitted and is a disciplinary offence.
The proprietor or its agents or its servants shall not be liable to any member or guest for any loss, damage or injury suffered by them or their property however caused, save in respect of death or personal injury to a member or guest caused by the negligence of the proprietor, its servants or its agents.
In the event of any dispute as to the meaning or interpretation of these rules the matter shall be referred to the membership committee whose interpretation and decision shall be final.
